1991-06-30 Duke McKenzie w pts 12 Gaby Canizales, Elephant and Castle Leisure Centre, Southwark, London, England - WBO. Referee: Steve Smoger. Scorecards: 120-108, 120-108, 120-109. Boxing with great skill and calmness, McKenzie (117¾) took the title from the head of Canizales (117¾) by a wide margin with as good a display as you would wish to see, only once ever looking in danger when being hit by a heavy right in round four. Other than that, he picked off the tough American, who finished badly swollen on the left eye, with sharp, accurate left jabs to head and body and solid right crosses that knocked all the stuffing out of him.

A former world flyweight champion, on winning McKenzie became the first British boxer to have held world titles at different weights.
