1991-09-11 Jeff Harding w pts 12 Dennis Andries, Odeon Cinema, Hammersmith, London, England - WBC. Referee: Joe Cortez. Scorecards: 115-114, 115-113, 114-114. Despite losing his title, Andries (175) yet again proved his mettle in what was the third championship fight between him and Harding (175). The first five rounds saw Andries at his best as he dished out punishment to leave swellings over both of Harding’s eyes and put himself in front. Although each man continued to throw heavy shots, as the fight progressed it appeared that Harding was lasting the better and was more accurate. Harding, showing a sound chin, was still under pressure though as Andries continued to give everything he had, and the decision could have gone either way. In such a close contest, neither man deserved to lose.
