1991-10-19 Charles Williams w rsc 2 Freddie Delgado, Williamsburg Memorial Fieldhouse, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA - IBF. Referee: Al Rothenberg. Defending the title for the eighth time, Williams (172) started fast to have Delgado (173) in some difficulty before a series of blows from both hands to the head had the latter down for a mandatory count in the opening session. On coming out for the second there was a bad clash of heads that left Williams cut over the left eye, but instead of nursing it through the session the champion ripped into Delgado with all he had. Battered endlessly from thereon, Delgado was rescued by the referee on the 2.24 mark when not fighting back.
