1991-11-09 Maurizio Stecca w rtd 9 Tim Driscoll, The Casino, Campione D'ltalia, Italy - WBO. Referee: Joe O’Neil. Showing much more class than his gutsy challenger, who had not boxed for five months, Stecca (125½) gradually confirmed his superiority as he jabbed and hooked his way inside in order to get the right uppercut working. With Driscoll (125¾) cut over the left eye in the fifth round, the next two sessions were relatively quiet before Stecca opened up in the eighth to leave his rival bloodied around the face. Although Driscoll fired back in the ninth he was retired by his corner at the bell, a broken nose being the final straw.
