1991-11-13 Paul Hodkinson w pts 12 Marcos Villasana, Maysfield Leisure Centre, Belfast, Northern Ireland - WBC. Referee: Vince Delgado. Scorecards: 119-109, 119-111, 119-114. This time round Hodkinson (125¾) made no mistake. Going 12 rounds for the first time, and despite being cut over the right eye in the fourth, Hodkinson drew away from the fifth onwards to land emphatically on the champion with big left and right hooks as he launched himself to victory. Miraculously, Villasana (126), tottering on the odd occasion, took most of these full-blooded blows unflinchingly, but although he continued to try and impress himself on the fight he was a well-beaten man at the final bell.
