Ignoring a damaged left hand, Zaragoza (122) used his speed and southpaw jab to outbox the challenger, his superior technique frustrating his rival’s efforts to work on the inside where his best chance of winning lay. Also a southpaw, Banke (122) was never able to apply any sustained pressure, apart from a good spell in the seventh round, and was forced to run second best.
