Although Galaxy (115) was dropped in the second he came back well, winning four successive rounds, before being given a further shock when Castro (115) came on strong in the eighth. Throwing punch after punch at the champion, Castro was unable to put Galaxy away before burning himself out and being punished over the final sessions. Virtually having nothing left, Castro was put down by a three-punch combination in the 12th, the unanimous decision in the champion’s favour coming moments later. Following the fight, the 32-year-old Galaxy announced that he was retiring.
