1992-01-07 Leeonzer Barber w pts 12 Anthony Hembrick, Auburn Hills Palace, Detroit, Michigan, USA - WB0. Referee: Frank Cappuccino. Scorecards: 114-113, 115-113, 113-115. In a closely fought bout a countering right to the jaw that put Hembrick (174) down in the 11th round was almost certainly the difference between the champion winning or losing his title. Although Hembrick’s jab was a point scorer it was the power of Barber (172) that was most noticeable and at the start of the ninth he sent his rival stumbling to the floor prior. At the start of the tenth Barber’s left eye was swelling up fast, but after having Hembrick over again in the 11th he began to tire rapidly and was happy to hear the final bell.
