1992-03-20 Thierry Jacob w pts 12 Daniel Zaragoza, Chapiteux-Vieux, Fort Niculay, Calais, France - WBC. Referee: Tony Perez. Scorecards: 118-113, 119-108, 115-112. Forcing the action from the start, the challenger took the first six rounds before Zaragoza (122) got into the fight in the middle sessions as his body shots and straight lefts began to slow his man down. In a battle of southpaws Jacob (121½) proved the stronger, and after going toe-to-toe with Zaragoza in the ninth the latter was cut over the right eye. In the tenth the Frenchman opened up to both floor and cut Zaragoza, this time over the left eye, and continued to score well over the last two sessions to win a world title at his third attempt.
