Showing much gameness, the challenger was dropped in round two by a solid right before getting up to take all Park (125½) could throw at him until the ninth when he was downed again. Park also had a point deducted in that session for hitting after the bell. The finish came in the 11th after good combinations to head and body sent Matsumoto (126) to his knees, whereupon the referee stepped in and called it off on the 45-second marker.
