1992-05-16 [[Colin McMillan]] w pts 12 [[Maurizio Stecca]], Alexandra Pavilion, Muswell Hill, London, England - WBO. Referee: Norbert Krosch. Scorecards: 116-114, 118-110, 118-110. Dishing out a boxing lesson of the highest standard, McMillan (125¼) made Stecca (125) look ordinary as his educated left hand consistently found its way into the champion’s features to log up points, and at the same time reduced him to holding and hitting. Although the pedestrian Stecca, his left eye swollen at the finish, was never on the floor it was a master-class display by McMillan, lacking only in power. However, the Englishman displayed many other ingredients such as the jab, excellent movement and superb counters. The only disappointment from the new champion’s point of view were the ridiculous marks given by the referee.
