1992-06-05 Jeff Harding w rsc 8 Christophe Tiozzo, Sports Palace, Marseille, France - WBC. Referee: Richard Steele. Tiozzo (174¾) made the better start, moving well and sending in left jabs to the champion’s face, and it was not until the sixth round that the tide began to turn. At that point Harding (174¾) stepped it up to get his left jab working while Tiozzo, cut under the left eye, began to show signs of tiring despite continuing to throw good punches. Coming out for the eighth, Tiozzo decided to punch it out on the inside with Harding, a tactic that proved to be his downfall. Eventually beaten to the punch, Tiozzo was dropped by a cracking left hook to the jaw and although he got up he was rescued by the referee as Harding, cut and swollen over both eyes, was battering him from both hands with nothing coming back. The time of the finish was not reported.
