1992-06-23 Yuri Arbachakov w co 8 Muangchai Kittikasem, Ryoguku Sumo Arena, Tokyo, Japan - WBC. Referee: Jose Medina. Arbachakov (111¾) became the first fighter from the CIS to win a world title when he made a fast start to floor the weight-drained Kittikasem (112) in the first before becoming careless and taking an eight count himself in the third. Immediately putting the Thai on the floor again, the hard-punching Arbachakov dominated from there on before landing a bludgeoning right hander that sent his rival crashing to the boards in the eighth to be counted out with just one second of the session remaining.
