Although he held his own for the first six rounds despite being cut over the left eye in the second, the inexperienced challenger tired badly in the second half of the fight and Medina (125) began to dominate, his long arms pumping out punches from both hands. With blood flowing from his damaged eye and at the end of his his tether, Cappai (123¾) was retired by his corner at the end of the tenth.
