1992-07-31 Josue Camacho w co 6 Eddie Vallejo, Caribe Hotel, San Juan, Puerto Rico - WBO. Referee: Ismael Fernandez. It was later discovered that Vallejo’s credentials were based on a ficticious record that saw him ranked only one place behind the WBO’s top rated Camacho (107), thus entitling him to a crack at the title vacated by Jose De Jesus. What was worse was the fact that he had been beaten by Britain’s Mickey Cantwell and Paul Weir, who were making their pro debuts at the time. For the record, badly behind on all three judges’ scorecards, Vallejo (106) was eventually counted out at 2.20 of the sixth round, the victim of a seemingly innocuous body blow.
