1992-12-05 [[Wilfredo Vazquez]] w rsc 8 [[Thierry Jacob]], Sports Palace, Berck Sur Mer, France - WBA. Referee: Uriel Aguilera. Although the southpaw challenger made an impressive start, outboxing Vazquez (122) for the first five rounds using quick flurries, an occasional solid left hand and no little skill, a heavy right opened up a cut on his left eye in the sixth and that ultimately changed the course of the fight. Fighting like a demon in the seventh as the cut worsened, it was obvious that Jacob (121¼) was on borrowed time and after making another inspection the referee called it off after 52 seconds of the eighth.
