1992-12-11 Katsuya Onizuka w pts 12 Armando Castro, Ariake Coliseum, Tokyo, Japan - WBA. Referee: Steve Smoger. Scorecards: 119-113, 118-111, 119-108. Although Castro (115) started well, hurting Onizuka (115) with an overarm right in the first, the champion quickly got his act together, scoring with jabs and straight rights to pile up the points thereafter, round after round. Castro, who was gashed over the left eye in the seventh, gamely kept going and rallied briefly on occasion. Despite showing plenty of heart, Castro was never able to overcome the improving Onizuka’s five-inch reach advantage and went down by a wide margin on the scorecards.
