1993-02-28 [[Alfred Cole]] w pts 12 [[Uriah Grant]], Trump Castle, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - IBF. Referee: Tony Orlando. Scorecards: 116-112, 115-113, 117-111. Despite what the scorecards said this was a very close fight and one that the champion could quite easily have lost as Grant (189) consistently used his left jab to get inside where he could attack the body. Even with his long reach, Cole (190) found it difficult to keep Grant at bay and he was forced to trade more often than he would have wished before getting back to the jab. Although Grant did well in the eighth and ninth rounds, Cole came right back in the last three sessions to secure the victory, a left hook-right uppercut hurting the Jamaican in the tenth before he repeated the dose in the 11th.
