1993-03-22 [[Carlos Gonzalez]] w rsc 1 [[Tony Baltazar]], Great Western Forum, Los Angeles, California, USA - WBO. Referee: Raul Caiz. Coming out two-fistedly at the bell, the challenger really let his punches go from head to body, especially with the left hook, and it took Gonzalez (139¾) a few moments to begin to compose himself before replying in kind. When he did start landing it was with immediate effect and he dropped Baltazar (139¾) with a sweeping left uppercut. Although Baltazar got to his feet quickly his legs betrayed him and a five-punch combination to the head sent him crashing again. The contest was almost over. On getting up and being battered down again by accurate shots to the head the referee stopped the fight on the three-knockdowns in a round ruling, the finish being timed at 2.22.
