1993-04-03 Virgil Hill w pts 12 Fabrice Tiozzo, Marcel Cerdan Sports Palace, Levallois-Perret, France - WBA. Referee: Carlos Berrocal. Scorecards: 115-112, 115-110, 113-115. Getting a shot at another version of the title, Tiozzo (174) gave Hill (174) plenty to think about, despite being put down in rounds one and two after the latter had made an excellent start. A change of tactics in the fifth saw Tiozzo finally picking up speed and having cut Hill over the left eye and marked him up a bit he was the benefactor of two points when hit low in the sixth and ninth. Towards the end it was clear that Tiozzo’s big effort had drained him and Hill took the contest by the scruff of the neck in the last few sessions.
