1993-05-15 Charles Murray w pts 12 Rodney Moore, Trump Castle Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - IBF. Referee: Frank Cappuccino. Scorecards: 115-113, 118-110, 116-112. Contesting the title relinquished by Pernell Whitaker, both men appeared happy to spend the first seven rounds working close, despite Murray (140) being expected to box from long range where he could jab and move. However, Murray’s harder punches and good body movement gave him the edge in most rounds. From the seventh onwards, Murray began to pull away with accurate jabs and solid body shots getting to Moore (140), who was shaken up several times, and although the latter rallied over the last two sessions he was unable to close the gap.
