1993-05-22 Riddick Bowe w rsc 2 Jesse Ferguson, RFK Stadium, Washington DC, USA - WBA/IBF. Referee: Larry Hazzard. Outgunned right from the start, Ferguson (224) was wide open to the champion’s punches and after being to eat left jabs heavy shots followed by a big left hook sent him to the floor. There looked to be no way back for Ferguson and although he just about got up before the ‘ten’ the bell to end the opening round came to his aid. Surprisingly allowed out for the second, Ferguson was immediately at the mercy of Bowe (244) and having been floored following a big right to the head that preceded several solid blows the referee stopped the fight 17 seconds into the session.
