1993-06-07 Tommy Morrison w pts 12 George Foreman, Thomas & Mack Centre, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBO. Referee: Mills Lane. Scorecards: 117-110, 117-110, 118-109. In a fight for the vacant title, Morrison (226) boxed a clever, tactical battle when using his speed to score points before moving away from real trouble against the much older Foreman (256). Even then Morrison was forced to endure some heavy hits when the men came together. Both Foreman and Morrison were tiring from their exertions by the eighth and when the latter was hit low he was allowed to take time out. The remainder of the fight saw Foreman plodding after Morrison, who would occasionally jump in with fast blows before getting away, and being deducted two points for low blows. At the close there was only one winner, but it was the older man who received the plaudits for his determined efforts to track Morrison down.
