1993-06-09 Daniel Jimenez w pts 12 Duke McKenzie, Lewisham Theatre, Catford, London, England - WBO. Referee: Rudy Battle. Scorecards: 115-114, 115-113, 115-115. A slow start and a ninth-round knockdown - a left followed by a right to the body doing the damage - cost McKenzie (121) his title against Jimenez (121), who showed good work-rate and hand-speed to further impress the judges. He was also effective at close quarters and slipping punches, and although McKenzie got his jab working at times he seemed weary. It was only towards the end of the contest that McKenzie went looking for Jimenez, but it was to no avail.
