1993-06-23 Juan Martin Coggi w co 5 Hiroyuki Yoshino, Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan - WBA. Referee: Rafael Ramos. For the first three rounds the contest was fairly even, with Yoshino (140) capitalising on his speed and vigour to score with hefty left hooks, while the southpaw champion used heavy straight lefts and uppercuts to head and body before opening up in the fourth as the challenger began to weaken. Coming out fast for the fifth Coggi (140) soon had his challenger floundering and in trouble, and when Yoshino was floored by a cracking left to the head it seemed that he did not have much left. Gamely getting off the floor Yoshino was soon down again, courtesy of a right hook and heavy follow-up blows, and when he arose only to be knocked over by another left, at 2.15 of the session the referee called it off.
