1993-06-28 [[Genaro Hernandez]] w co 8 [[Raul Perez]], Great Western Forum, Los Angeles, California, USA - WBA. Referee: Lou Moret. Back in the ring together after their earlier fight had lasted less than half a minute, this time round Perez (130), cut over the right eye in the third, suffered a systematic beating at the hands of the champion. Looking slow and seemingly having no defence against the leads and hooks to the body, Perez was weakened steadily as Hernandez (130) worked him over round after round. By the seventh, Perez’s left eye was almost closed and into the eighth he was counted out at 2.11 of the session after Hernandez had dropped him with a terrific left hook to the body.
