1993-07-16 Al Cole w pts 12 Glenn McCrory, Prospect Mira Sports Palace, Moscow, Russia - IBF. Referee: Rudy Battle. Scorecards: 118-109, 118-109, 117-110. Given the opportunity to regain to regain his old title, McCrory (190) gave it his best shot but was ultimately found wanting against a champion who pressured him throughout and carried more firepower. Fought at a fast pace McCrory did well to stand up against Cole (190), who was intent on finishing early, but he had to get off the floor twice twice in the sixth round in order to do so. Although Cole was a clear winner, McCrory, who had to get weight off at the weigh-in, showed his mettle in the tenth when a body shot hurt him but he hung on gamely to make it to the final bell.
