1993-08-06 Gerald McClellan w co 1 Jay Bell, Ruben Rodriguez Coliseum, Bayamon, Puerto Rico - WBC. Referee: Tony Perez. The fight only lasted 30 seconds, a record for the division in modern times. Both men came out with the jab before the champion caught the limited Bell (157½) with a tremendous left to the body after missing with a big right. It later transpired that Bell had participated in just nine fights in eight years and was just not up to fighting McClellan (159½), one of the hardest hitters around.
