1993-10-01 Lennox Lewis w rsc 7 Frank Bruno, Arms Park, Cardiff, Wales - WBC. Referee: Mickey Vann. Boxing at his best, Bruno (238) made life extremely difficult for Lewis (229), especially in the third round when smashing in heavy punches that wobbled the champion and at the end of the sixth he was on level terms despite being hurt moments earlier. At the start of the seventh both men were carrying swellings around their left eyes and with Bruno going for it, clubbing away at Lewis, he was badly hurt by a wide left hook to the head. Retreating to the ropes in a defenceless state, Bruno looked in a bad way and with Lewis piling in heavy punches the referee stepped in to save the brave challenger on the 1.12 mark.
