1993-10-11 [[Genaro Hernandez]] w pts 12 [[Harold Warren]], Great Western Forum, Los Angeles, California, USA - WBA. Referee: Lou Moret. Scorecards: 119-109, 118-115, 118-110. Despite possessing a five-inch reach advantage, the champion made things tough for himself by engaging in close quarter infighting with Warren (130), which ultimately led to him being cut on the left eye in round four. With Warren coming forward non-stop, slinging in punches from all angles of which some were low, it was pointless in Hernandez (130) fighting his fight. With that in mind by the seventh Hernadez had begun to find the distance to fire in jabs, left hooks to the body and jarring rights at his rapidly tiring challenger, who was also bleeding from a cut left eye. From thereon in, although looking ungainly at times, Hernandez did enough in the main to keep Warren at arms length, but at the finish the fight seemed to have been much closer than the cards depicted.
