1993-10-21 Leo Gamez w rtd 9 Shiro Yahiro, Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan - WBA. Referee: Rafael Ramos. Contested for the title left vacant when Myung-Woo Yuh retired, Gamez (108) soon got on top, almost flooring Yahiro (108) in the first round with a left-right to the jaw. Yahiro had a good jab, but the Venezuelan had the power and so it proved when flooring his man twice, in the seventh and ninth, before the towel was thrown in to signal his rival’s retirement at 2.20 of the ninth.
