1993-11-05 Katsuya Onizuka w pts 12 Thanomsak Sithbaobay, Ariake Coliseum, Tokyo, Japan - WBA. Referee: Rudy Battle. Scorecards: 116-111, 116-114, 115-113. Now known as Khaoyai Mahasarakam, the challenger, countering with accuracy and precision, seemed to be well on his way to avenging an earlier loss to Onizuka (115) only to be on the wrong end of the split decision. Having landed more punches and initiated most of the action, Onizuka, cut over the left eye in the seventh round, was rewarded by all three judges regardless of the fact that Sithbaobay (115) appeared to produce the cleaner shots and better quality.
