1993-11-06 Orlin Norris w co 6 Marcelo Figueroa, Winter Velodrome, Paris, France - WBA. Referee: Franco Priami. With Bobby Czyz forfeiting the title due to inactivity, Norris (188¼) and Figueroa (188¼) were matched to decide a new champion. The fight was almost over before it started when Figueroa was dropped by the first two blows, a left hook-right cross, thrown by Norris and although stunned he managed to get back in contention when working hard. For three rounds it became a contest of the Argentinian’s left jab and the punching power of Norris before the latter got totally on top, hurting his man every time he connected. Figueroa, cut under the left eye after a clash of heads in the third, was suffering by the fourth and having endured a very tough fifth he was counted out after 45 seconds of the sixth following a chopping right to the head that sent him to the floor face down.
