1993-11-19 Zack Padilla w rtd 8 Efrem Calamati, Sports Palace, Arezzo, Italy - WBO. Referee: William Connors. Following a reasonable start when scoring well with good lefts, the challenger found himself up against it from the fourth onwards as Padilla (139) began to unload. Having worn Calamati (139½) down after several heavy exchanges along the ropes, Padilla started to go for the body in the sixth and in the seventh the Italian was dropped by a right hand to the head. Calamati was now soaking up heavy punishment and with a nerve in his neck affecting his performance he stayed in his corner as the bell went for the start of round eight.
