1993-12-16 Zack Padilla w pts 12 Ray Oliveira, Foxwoods Resort, Ledyard, Connecticut, USA - WBO. Referee: Steve Smoger. Scorecards: 118-110, 117-112, 116-113. Boxing beautifully for three rounds, spearing in jabs and sliding away before being caught, the constantly switching Oliveira (139) made a great start, but once the champion began to close the range and started to let the body shots go in the fourth things got tougher for him. By the fifth, Padilla (138½) was finding the lanky Oliveira without fail and was beginning to pin him on the ropes while scoring with accurate blows to head and body. Although Oliveira got his second wind in time for the remaining two rounds and began to box well again his inability to hurt Padilla allowed the latter to cruise through to the final bell without any mishaps.
