1994-02-12 Tom Johnson w pts 12 Orlando Soto, Cervantes Convention Centre, St Louis, Missouri, USA - IBF. Referee: Bobby Ferrara. Scorecards: 117-109, 116-110, 115-111. Dominating most of the rounds and working hard, Johnson (126) was good value for his victory and it looked as though he was on his way to an early night when he floored Soto (126) in the fifth, but a few moments later he was badly hurt himself by long straight right. Still, the better boxing was always with Johnson, even though he boxed cautiously over the last few rounds, and although Soto was dangerous he only fought in spurts and was a disappointment for a man trying to win a title.
