1994-02-26 Orlando Canizales w rsc 4 Gerardo Martinez, State Event Centre Arena, San Jose, Texas, USA - IBF. Referee: Lou Moret. Pressuring the champion right from the start, the hard-punching Martinez (118) was going well until being dropped, out of the blue, by a right-left combination before being saved by the bell. The next couple of rounds saw Canizales (118) countering with both hands, mainly to the body, before a left hook to the jaw followed by combination punches put Martinez on the floor in the fourth. On rising, it could be clearly seen that Martinez was in no fit state to continue, the referee calling it off with 38 seconds of the session remaining.
