Coming in at short notice for the indisposed Lamar Parks, Baptist (158) was soon under pressure from the champion and after taking a slamming left hook he was dropped in a neutral corner. Baptist was finished from this point on and after McClellan (159) had put him down twice moré in quick succession the referee called a halt, the stoppage being times at 1.37.
