Starting slowly and sustaining a cut over the left eye in the third, Porpaoin (105) eventually picked up the pace, concentrating on heavy hooks to head and body, and Murillo (105) looked to be on the verge of a stoppage defeat on several occasions. However, having weathered the storm the challenger came back well himself, but had left it too late.
