1994-04-08 Julio Cesar Vasquez w pts 12 Ricardo Raul Nunez, Villa Lujan Defenders Football Ground, Tucuman, Argentina - WBA. Referee: Fernando Peyrous. Scorecards: 118-114, 118-113, 118-112. Starting slowly, the champion soon began to pick up the pace, dropping Nunez (152¼) in the third with a southpaw left to the body. However, Nunez came back well when scoring with both hands in the fifth and sixth rounds. Gradually, Vasquez (152¾) began to take over from the awkward Nunez, and after knocking his fellow Argentinian down for the second time, in the ninth, he made sure of victory with a storming last two sessions.
