1994-05-07 Gerald McClellan w rsc 1 Julian Jackson, MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - WBC. Referee: Joe Cortez. Having struggled to make the weight the champion tore into Jackson (160) from the first bell, catching his man with a big right hook barely 15 seconds into the fight. Although Jackson remained upright he was driven to the ropes by McClellan (160) where he was battered without let up, slipping down once before a left to the body sent him crashing to the floor to be counted out on the 1.23 mark.

McClellan vacated the WBC version of the title in January 1995 after landing a crack at super middleweight champion, Nigel Benn, which was followed by Jackson being matched against Agostino Cardamone to decide the vacancy.
