1994-05-11 Steve Collins w rsc 5 Chris Pyatt, Ponds Forge Leisure Centre, Sheffield, England - WBO. Referee: Paul Thomas. Looking a far bigger man than the champion, Collins (159), having his third crack at a world title, made a confident start and was soon getting home with right-hand counters. It was anybody’s fight by the end of the fourth but it all changed in the fifth. Both men were getting their punches off, but it was Collins who landed the best punch of the fight, a crunching right to the face that bowled Pyatt (159) over. After being given the mandatory ‘eight’ count, Pyatt was given the chance to carry on despite being on shaky legs, but was rescued by the referee after 2.27 of the session had elapsed when it was clear that he was taking too many punches.

Collins relinquished the WBO version of the title in March 1995 following his victory over Chris Eubank for the WBO super middles crown.
