1994-07-24 [[Zack Padilla]] w rtd 10 [[Juan Laporte]], Olympic Auditorium, Los Angeles, California, USA - WBO. Referee: Raul Caiz. Throwing punches from the first bell, Padilla (140) began to apply non-stop pressure and it soon became clear that Laporte (140) didn’t have the power required to keep the champion from swarming all over him. As hard as he tried Laporte was wilting by the tenth, having hit Padilla with his best shots, and he was retired on his stool at the end of the round completely exhausted. The WBO version of the title became vacant when Padilla was forced to retire in September after suffering an aneurism in training.
