1994-07-30 [[Alfred Kotey]] w pts 12 [[Rafael Del Valle]], York Hall, Bethnal Green, London, England - WBO. Referee: Dave Parris. Scorecards: 116-111, 118-111, 116-112. In taking the title, Kotey (115¾), who scored a solid knockdown in round two, made all the running against the better boxing of Del Valle (118) and just about deserved the unanimous verdict, although not by the margins shown on the cards. It was all about skill versus power and aggression and the judges sided with the latter, being impressed by the Ghanaian’s forward march.
