In a fight for the vacant title it was fairly even for the first ten rounds, both men having their moments, as Castro (159¾) chased and Johnson (159¾) boxed mainly on the back foot, his southpaw jab just about keeping his rival at bay. However, the last two sessions saw Castro finally get to Johnson, hammering punches in from all over to take the title on a split decision.
