1994-08-26 [[Hector Acero-Sanchez]] w pts 12 [[Tracy Harris Patterson]], Bally’s Park Place Hotel, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA - WBC. Referee: Ron Lipton. Scorecards: 114-113, 114-113, 112-115. Following a slow first round the challenger opened up in the second, dropping Patterson (122) who got up quickly before being hurt again. From then on there was nothing in it as Patterson tracked Acero-Sanchez (122), occasionally snapping the Dominican’s head back with right hands but never being able to build on it, while Acero-Sanchez, moving cleverly and scoring with short punches, was always in the fight. At the final bell, with every round having been closely contested it could have gone either way.
