1994-08-27 Jake Rodriguez w rsc 9 George Scott, Fernwood Resort, Bushkill, New York, USA - IBF. Referee: Tony Wolfe. In a battle of southpaws it was the champion who came out on top after the referee, on the advice of the ringside doctor, took Scott (139½) out of the contest at the end of the ninth round. By the fifth Rodriguez (140) was beginning to get on top of his unbeaten opponent, and in the eighth he dropped him with a short left to the jaw. On resuming Scott was then sent into the ropes after the bell had gone. Being forced to trade in the ninth, Scott, who was bleeding badly from the mouth, was almost out on his feet with exhaustion when the stoppage came.
