With the challenger, Geier (121¼), unbeaten in 20 contests, Austria’s first world championship fight for a long time ended in disaster as the local man was knocked out by Jimenez (121¼) almost from the first punch, a terrific right which landed with some force on his jaw. The time of the finish, although announced as 19 seconds and a world record, was closer to 25 seconds.
