1994-09-10 [[Nigel Benn]] w pts 12 [[Juan Carlos Gimenez]], National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, England - WBC. Luis Guzman. Scorecards: 119-115, 117-112, 118-112. Taking part in his thrd championship fight, Gimenez (167½) once again proved to be a game, durable performer as he soaked up all the champion could throw at him. Occasionally working away well with both hands, Gimenez was almost dropped in the eighth by a crashing right to the head as Benn (167¼) looked to finish early. Amazingly, the tough Paraguayan recovered almost immediately and in the tenth was landing solid rights to the body before bundling Benn to the floor. In the 11th Benn tried again with lefts and rights to the head, but on failing to drop his man he got behind the jab right through to the final bell.
