1994-09-18 Hyung-Chul Lee w rsc 9 Katsuya Onizuka, Yoyogi First Gym, Tokyo, Japan - WBA. Referee: John Coyle. Coming back from several toe-to-toe exchanges when he was badly hurt, especially from hard lefts and solid right uppercuts, Lee (115) continually pressed Onizuka (115) in an effort to nullify the champion’s height and reach advantages. Although both men held sway at varying times, it was the challenger who proved to be the stronger in the last half of the contest. After setting up a non-stop attack that lasted fully a minute, Lee was rewarded when the referee took Onizuka, who was unable to defend himself properly, out of the contest with five seconds of the ninth session remaining.
